Happy Birthday to Walt! My husbands father will be 90 years old on the 13th of July. The whole family met in Connecticut this past weekend for a birthday bash.
Dean's father lost his first wife a number of years ago. He is remarried and happy. The two families now make a humongous group when they all get together. Dean is the eighth of nine children and Walter's current wife had six children. Most are married. Most have at least one child. Some of those children have had children and well, you get the idea.
Here are the original nine kids with Walter and Char. Dean is in the upper right in the back. Handsome guy!
Here are the grandchildren minus four that could not make it.
I was not looking forward to the trip because it takes us 5 1/2 hours to get to Connecticut, but I had a very good time. I did a lot of knitting on the drive. I did a lot of sitting and talking to people during the party. The kids played with their cousins and met some cousins they didn't know.
Here just the seven of us are all together again. I love it when we are all together.
We are back in Maine now. Right where we belong. Back to the chickens, and gardens, and our little house in the woods.
